Our world-class staff of professionals provides outstanding instruction. The staff has improved the fitness level and lifestyles of thousands of children!

The pictures below are just a few of our great coaches from our 3 locations. All Olympiad instructors and coaches are carefully recruited and undergo a screening process based on knowledge and experience in the sport of gymnastics as well as professionalism and personal integrity.

Judy and Gordon have B.S. & M.S. degrees in Health & Physical education and have been teaching for 55 years. They taught for both the Richmond and Chesterfield public school systems. In 1970, the first Olympiad was opened and has since been an intregal part in the physical and educational development of tens of thousands of Richmond area children. The Shaw’s are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the gymnastics industry in the United States. Their commitment to children and athletic excellence is an inspiration!

Graduate of the Moscow Sports Academy. Boris coached the Moscow Region’s
Olympic Level Women’s Team for over seventeen years. 45 years of International coaching experience in Russia and the USA. Has coached developmental Team up to Level 10/Elite. Coached National Champion Alex McMurtry #1 Recruit in the United States.

Graduated from Ohio State where Alex competed men’s gymnastics. Alex was an athlete for over 16 years and has been coaching for 24 years.

Gymnastics competitor for 11 years. Slated for the Atlanta Olympics and had to scratch due to medical reasons. Spent four year as an acrobat in the Russian circus. 9 years with the Richmond Olympiad.
ALLIE LEWIS

Allie was a competitive gymnast at ROGC for 10 years, and even was team caption her senior year! She went on to attend University of South Carolina for undergrad with a degree in Exercise Science and then attended Shenandoah University to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Allie is a full time PT at an outpatient orthopedic/sports clinic in Glen Allen, VA. As of now, she is most often seen at our Gaskins location, coaching team girls. However, over the last 8 years, she has coached at both the Gaskins/Trade Road locations periodically with pre-team and up through level 10! Her favoriete event to compete was Bars, but her favorite event to coach is Beam.

Started at Richmond Olympiad at the recreational level at 5 years old. Graduated from William & Mary where Larson competed 5 years at the collegiate level. Has coached for Richmond Olympiad Gymnastics for over 11 years. All levels up to optional gymnastics.

Graduate of the Moscow Sports Academy. Coach at St. Kashira, Moscow Region’s Olympic Level Women’s Team for over twenty years. 39 years coaching experience in Russia and the USA. International coaching. Has coached developmental team up to Level 10.

Arielle has 12 years of competitive gymnastics experience as a level 9 training 10 gymnast. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018 where she utilized her gymnastics skills and joined the cheerleading team. April of 2021 she completed her Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from South University. She began her coaching experience in 2017 with recreational classes and Xcel at Core Kids Academy and transitioned to Richmond Olympiad to coach compulsory and optional level gymnasts beginning in March of 2019. She is now going on her 4th season with ROGC. Her favorite things about coaching gymnastics is learning and understanding the many different personalities of the gymnasts and being a part of their journeys in this tough sport.

Bachelors of science degree in kinesiology/exercise science and a minor in pre physical therapy.

MEG HARING

Meg was a competitive gymnast at New England Gymnastics in Springfield MA throughout childhood culminating as a USAG Class II (Level 7/8) gymnast, along with competing high school varsity gymnastics, soccer and track & field. She also worked teaching gymnastics as a teenager.

Meg went on to earn a BFA in Graphic Design from RIT in Rochester, NY. After years in advertising, she launched Haring Design whose clients include the NFL, College Football Hall of Fame, Richmond Olympiad, among others.

Meg returned to gymnastics as an Olympiad coach in 2008 teaching our rec and Champions programs. She created the Rising Stars program in 2011, and has been coaching all ages for 16 years. Meg’s passion for developing confidence in young children has led her to specialize in teaching preschool through L3/4.
